May I add my thanks to Lizard_Man/Albaric. Albaric's attitude and pressuring of Marin was a key factor in moving Marin on from a doldrum position to something that is a thrill and addictive to play.
Many thanks Lizard-man. |

Right, here go's.
From Morler's humble beginnings to the very end there were a few people who really shaped his character.
Big thanks go to Confused Gamer for Elriel and MarkIsMoney616 for Morlers first Squire - Kendal
And Mystic - Alina Rai
The Red Hart Team in all its Glory,
MarkIsMoney616 / Kendal
Mr Geek / Welston Alanvil
Leyoz / Archibald Trask
CapnTomato / Dantho Mectar
Lbannon / Lesair Mahon
Misanthrotopia / Akkarin Hawklin
Top_Hat / Henry Log-Horn
your guys helped to turn Morler into the confident arrogant SOB he was.
cant forget CoA_Deloril / Pheonix Halenthen - His name is still a taboo topic in the Red Hart Fortress.
and the new breed Metalmonk / Leo Heartshield, Swifty Willownall / William Paton and Elvenstarr / Melina Adams.
big tips to Golw / Issac Rabrant, OverusedChewToy / Merin HIghthistle, Sorcerous_Succubus / Sian Parkin.
I couldn't have had so much fun with out some stellar enemies. you guys I loved to hate. gave me so much motivation to keep going.
especially Bable / Xool, SuperHessu / Helmar and Ryann Mcgullen - (sry forgot playername) - I still blame that dog!
Last but not least a massive <3 for the Dm's who took interest particularly Gmork, FirstRedBanner, Thunderlamb (come back!) and Parasitic Nematode - your quests/plots were awesome...seriously.
see you all on the flip side. _________________ -----------------------------

So Selsal Thervain is gone and so I do need to do some shut outs and post some spoilers for stuff that happened in the past. It is a bit sad because I enjoyed the character and it's the first of my characters (yes, ever) that has perma-died instead of getting a peaceful retirement.
Got to do some great things with the character including;
* Helped kill Fenrosh.
* Helped kill the Helmsland Wyvern (no, Qu'larq didn't do much!).
* Formed an Elven Community.
* Lots and lots of behind the scenes plotting and manoeuvring which is still paying off.
* Helped put Lhal back on the throne.
* Got to lvl tin! Yes, I won CoA! >_>
The low charisma of the character (10) was interesting to try to play out. People kept trying to look to her for leadership of the Elves and she refused it constantly. She chose to be an advisor instead and ended up with having all manner of people listening to her words - Court, Red Hart, Sheriffs, even some evil PCs like Ryann the Chickendancer.
The start of the character I left very open on purpose. She would have sided with which ever 'side' found her first. It just so happened that 'team good' did - and it was Maal's murder that set her on the path she ended up on. I still wonder what would have happened if she had gone to 'team evil'.
People that seriously need lots of kudos for making it all fun include:
Turbo - Morler was awesome. His single handed battle with that Ogre chained Dragon was numerous kinds of awesome.
Glow - Rabbit did so much and got so many involved it was brilliant.
OverUsedChewToy - Merin made simple social interactions fun and interesting. I hope she goes on to find a cookie factory.
SorcerousSuccubus - Sian plays the role of a Paladin extremely well, every action she does you can clearly tell is controlled by her beliefs.
Mystic - Alina Rai was probably Selsal's best friend in the end and certainly a huge influence on her. I hope Sian remembers one of the last things Selsal asks of her.
Kerym, Xavtiln, Mithion ... are all doing wonders over with Team Elf and deserve a solid nod of recognition. They signed up when it was ... well, nothing and beset on all sides. Hopefully they can head Team Elf's eventually mission of killing all humans *cough*.
Ryann is/was a very complicated character and one deserving of a lot of respect. He and Selsal had many an interesting conversation, especially the one they had where Selsal tried to teach him how Elves see the world.
Olouth's crazy noble Obarstal certainly keeps things interesting and deserves a nod. She keeps getting kicked down but never gives up and never compromises.
LaughingOctopus' Sheriff Tria ... I can't say a lot without spoiling stuff but simply ... very well done. Keep it up.
Leo Heartshield and Melina Addams also deserve recognition for being great Knights.
Damn, I'm sure there's a lot more but lunch break is about over so I'm out of time.
Cheers again to everyone that interacted with Selsal! I have no idea yet what my next main concept will be so I guess we'll all find out at some point...
If you'd like to offer me honest feedback on Selsal then send me a PM. I'm always looking for that so I can constantly improve RPing! _________________ Selsal Thervain: Sneaky shoot stab stab

Since Merin's practically retired, it's probably time to give my own shout outs.
So, in no particular order, thanks to the players of Sian Parkin, Selsal Thervain, Frem Fiddlestick, Archibald Trask, Tessa Allenby, Aegar Morler, Alton Highill/Jamamros Beestinger, Silkie Peppermill, Darian Kodiake, Rexahr Rakal, Saroki Swample, Cora Stoutshield, Thirlo Dardivvile, Tinisyriandrimaxus (Tiny), Ak-Skith-Kolo, Griam Bestien, Daisy Weatherbee and a whole bunch of other people I missed unintentionally.
Merin was fun to play, particularly for the enjoyment of steamrolling quests, the challenge of playing a character so other-focused in terms of their strengths, as well as playing a genuinely good character in a setting that is increasingly morally ambiguous.
So, thanks to everyone Merin met along the way and made her fun to play. She'll be around occasionally, but won't be involved with quests or plots any longer. |

Rejoice goodman and goodwives of Cormyr, for grand evil was vanquished today!
Nay, but on a more serious note - Dante's dead, curtain's over. What can I say - playin with Dante was both great fun, and grand challenge. I hope I managed to give CoA a villain to be remembered, if only a little - a "Soprano Family" style of Blackguard. A villain that didn't care to conceal his face, and in fact - usually proudly boasted his evilness. And - a villain that started as an 8 charisma nobody, destinied to just fall and disappear as the Third Mercenery In Frontline. So in a way - a proof, that if you're "ballsy" enough, you can earn anything IG.
Well then, in order of appearances - allies first, I guess.
- Kilgrave (especially Belaern - you can be my wingman any time!)
- Wicked Bunch (for saving Dante from pyre)
- Zhentarim (for further saving Dante from the pyre, and the ever funny "backstabbing each other" politics of the faciton ). Special plus goes here to Thamuz, my favorite Zhentarim - he manipulated Dante into liking him, even after Dante left, so it's pretty much a good accomplishment.
- Black Legion - it is pity that we part ways so soon, but I honestly hope you'll manage to continue the work begun by Dante. Special cheers for Christine, for having patience to keep tabs on Dante's humanity .
And of couse - cheers to all Dante's foes. To point out every one of his'd probably take at least a page or two, so, well, without further ado:
Courtain on Dante Sane, Crimson Czar, former Stalwart of Zhentarim, former Herald of Hazil, Captain of Wicked Bunch, "Godfather of Arabel".
I hope everyone enjoyed the interactions with the character - I can admit it was one of the better fleshed out characters I ever played, not just on CoA.
Oh and yeah - To prove he was true evil, let's just say that I managed to sell at least three copies of bracers of armor +1, for a total of 1500 gold. And I got to level tin - bravo for me. _________________ Vulno Rul - Blackguard of Bane, notorious gambler - gambled, gambled, and finally lost everything. |

I will miss Dante, and the very irony of his surname. Extremely well done, Rince, you made a foe that was both believable and chill-causing. _________________ Alfred Manson |

I hope Dante had a good death, it deserved to be epic.
As a general rule I hardly ever post in the RP recognition forum, but.. Dante deserves an exception.
Very well played, made the game fun. Kudos.
Looking forward to seeing what character you pull out of your hat next.

A very succesful character, in my book. Really brought a whole new face to evil, from walking into the Golden Unicorn and offering a bit of infernal aid to some really involving Banite acts. Kudos to you I lost count of how many times Dante cheated death. _________________ Adre Darksteel

| Any character that can stir up IC emotional reactions from those around him is a successful character. You did this quite well with Raslyn. I loved that she loathed Dante. Looking forward to your next incarnation. (*cough* Raven) |

Having ICly been striving to get close to Dante for the past several weeks, I've gotten to know him as a character and the player behind.
As a character - I enjoyed the countless hours of discussions we had, the humanity and nonhumanish aspects of all of it. All the fights, all the verbal banter, not to mention the oodles of innuendo'd jokes that always got tossed back and forth.
Dante was straight forward with his "i get my hate on" "fear be bish" and "i can angst too!" It offered many different layers to the character that took work to learn.
As a player - I think you did a fantastic job at the villian you chose to create. It's caused many hours and weeks of fun for many people. I'm sure your next character will heighten far beyond Dante's awesomeness, and I look forward to seeing him/her.
Thanks for the thought you put into your last character, and the excitement of your next. |
