The East Way Accord
The Sword:
In who's name the sword is reforged and who wields the blade into battle to help end this towns curse will be decided by a battle of arms. Each faction will put forth a champion and each champion will obey the rules of the challenge given before hand. The winner will name who gets to reforge the sword and who will take it into battle.
East Way:
The East Way Village will be part of the Free State of Arabel. An independent Mayor shall govern the town in the name of Queen Lahl.
Caravans:
All caravans passing through this town will be subject to taxation except those noted as exempt below. Taxation distribution will be covered under the 'Taxation of East Way” Section. Caravans exempt from taxation are: Venieth Family Caravans; Zhentarim Caravans.
Taxation:
Taxes will be put into the East Way Treasury. The treasury will maintain the East Way Village, the Trade Routes, the defences for the East Way. Of the surplus, 10% will be saved to the East Way Treasury. 30% each will be tithed to the Court of Lahl, the Sheriffs of Arabel, and the Zhentarim.
Defence:
Defence of the town shall be split three ways between the Court, the Sheriffs and the Zhentarim. Each faction will supply 25 men for the task making a total shared garrison of 75 men. The men will follow the directions of the governing body but maintain their own command structure.
Law:
The town's laws shall be that of the Free State of Arabel
Sheriffs:
The Sheriffs will have sole jurisdiction over the town and will be responsible for maintaining and enforcing the law with in the town.
Trials:
The Court will have jurisdiction over any trials that are required by law in East Way.
Land Grants and Sales:
Land grants will be reviewed and approved by the Queen, and Lord Cassiel would be allowed first refusal on any land sold.
The Zhentarim:
The Zhentarim will be granted a portion of the town on the East edge of the Hallack Forest where the old Eclestian Chapter House stood. These grounds will be Zhentarim land as is their Embassy and Zhentarim Law will be up held on it. The training ground will hold up to 125 Trainees or Men.

Since Zahell has not signed any contract that had a reduced number of recruits on it, this contract is void.
//IE, this was changed after I signed it and I never signed an amended agreement. |
